Privacy
The short version: no cookies, no ad networks and no third-party analytics. If you give us your email, we use it to email you, and for nothing else.
Your email
If you sign up, we store your email address, the date, and which page you signed up from. We use it only to send you what you signed up for. We never sell it or share it, except with an email delivery service acting for us. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
Counting visits
When a page loads or you click a store link, your browser sends us a small record: the page, the site or campaign that sent you here, and for store clicks, which book. It does not include your IP address, it is not linked to you, and it sets no cookie. A temporary value in your browser keeps the source for the length of your visit and disappears when you close the tab. We use this to learn what is worth writing.
Our web host also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and for a limited time.
Other sites
Store links go to Amazon or Bookshop.org, and share buttons go to the social network you choose. Those companies have their own policies, and can set cookies once you are on their sites.
Changes
If any of this changes, we will update this page first.
